Paul FaraciSYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:210 ILCS 125/33 newAmends the Swimming Facility Act. Provides that a public swimming facility may allow dogs to enter and use a swimming pool if the specified conditions are met.LRB104 17705 BAB 31136 bA BILL FORSB3083 LRB104 17705 BAB 31136 b1 AN ACT concerning regulation.2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,3 represented in the General Assembly:4 Section 5. The Swimming Facility Act is amended by adding5 Section 33 as follows:6 (210 ILCS 125/33 new)7 Sec. 33. Dogs in swimming facilities. A public swimming8 facility may allow dogs to enter and use a swimming pool if all9 of the following conditions are met:10 (1) The swimming facility is closed to all human use11 during the period of canine access, except for use by a12 permitted dog's owner or handler and employees of the13 swimming facility.14 (2) Canine access occurs outside of normal operating15 hours and is not concurrent with any human swimming16 activities, except for swimming activities involving a dog17 and its owner or handler.18 (3) The swimming pool is completely drained no later19 than 24 hours following canine use.20 (4) Prior to refilling and reopening the swimming pool21 for human use, the swimming pool is cleaned, sanitized,22 and inspected in accordance with rules adopted by the23 Department of Public Health.SB3083 - 2 - LRB104 17705 BAB 31136 b1 (5) Each dog permitted to use the swimming pool is2 accompanied and controlled by an owner or handler at all3 times and is vaccinated in accordance with State and local4 requirements.5 (6) The operator of the swimming facility provides6 clear public notice of the dates and times during which7 canine access is permitted.
Amends the Swimming Facility Act. Provides that a public swimming facility may allow dogs to enter and use a swimming pool if the specified conditions are met.
