1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Pharmacy Practice Act is amended by adding
5 Section 45 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 85/45 new)
7 Sec. 45. Pharmaceutical recall notice sign-up. Every
8 pharmacy licensed in this State shall post in a conspicuous
9 place near the pharmacy counter and drive-up window, a sign
10 that includes a QR code informing patients of the ability to
11 sign up for medication recalls via the United States Food and
12 Drug Administration website. The Department may adopt rules
13 necessary to implement this Section.
14 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
15 1, 2027.

Amends the Pharmacy Practice Act. Provides that every pharmacy licensed in this State shall post in a conspicuous place near the pharmacy counter and drive-up window, a sign that includes a QR code informing patients of the ability to sign up for medication recalls via the United States Food and Drug Administration website. Provides that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation may adopt rules necessary to implement the provisions. Effective January 1, 2027.
