The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by5 adding Section 143.35 as follows:6 (215 ILCS 5/143.35 new)7 Sec. 143.35. Optional rental vehicle coverage.8 (a) In response to all applications for a policy of9 automobile insurance, as defined in paragraph (a) of Section10 143.13, received by an insurance company, the insurance11 company shall provide the applicant written notice regarding12 the availability of rental vehicle coverage for an insured13 vehicle as a result of a cause of loss covered by the policy14 contract, including the coverage limits and costs thereof.15 (b) At least 30 days prior to each renewal of a policy of16 automobile insurance, as defined in paragraph (a) of Section17 143.13, the insurance company shall provide the insured18 written notice regarding the availability of rental vehicle19 coverage for an insured vehicle as a result of a cause of loss20 covered by the policy contract, including the coverage limits21 and costs thereof.22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on JulySB3258 Enrolled - 2 - LRB104 17101 BAB 30520 b1 1, 2027.
Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that, in response to all applications for a policy of automobile insurance received by an insurance company, the insurance company or its agent shall provide the applicant information regarding the availability of coverage for loss of use of an insured vehicle as a result of a cause of loss covered by the policy contract. Provides that, at least 30 days prior to each renewal of a policy of automobile insurance, the insurance company or its agent shall provide the insured information regarding the availability of coverage for loss of use of an insured vehicle as a result of a cause of loss covered by the policy contract. Effective July 1, 2027.
