Subject: Conservation and development; wastewater systems; servicing
Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
servicing and cleaning of wastewater systems at least every three years. The
bill would require the Agency of Natural Resources to identify in rule the types
of wastewater systems that would require regular cleaning. The rules would
require those systems requiring regular cleaning to be pumped and inspected
for issues and have their components cleaned if necessary. The bill would
require that, upon completion of servicing, the person servicing the wastewater
system submit a record of the servicing and cleaning to the Agency of Natural
Resources.
