This act shall be known as the Sarah10 Caldwell Crosby Act.11Section 2. Section 41-9-548, Code of Alabama 1975, is12 amended as follows:13"§41-9-54814(a)(1) All full-time employees of the authority shall15 be treated as state employees for the purposes of16 participating in any insurance programs provided for the state17 employees.18(b)(2) The authority shall pay the employer's19 contributions to any insurance programs out of funds20 appropriated to it or otherwise available to it for any21 purpose whatsoever. The authority may deduct the employees'22 contributions for such programs by means of payroll deductions23 or otherwise from the compensation paid to the employees.24(b)(1) All employees of the authority shall be members25 of the unclassified service for purposes of Section 36-26-10.26(2) Any employee of the authority employed as of the27 effective date of the act adding this subsection shall be28 entitled to payment for his or her accumulated leave uponPage 1SB252 Enrolled29 separation from service, and any employee hired after the30 effective date shall be entitled to such payment only to the31 extent generally provided to unclassified employees in the32 Merit System, consistent with generally applicable33 administrative rules adopted by the State Personnel34 Department."35Section 3.
