                                11   RELATING TO GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION; RENAMING THE GOVERNOR'S
                                12   RESIDENCE ADVISORY COMMISSION AS THE GOVERNOR'S RESIDENCE
                                13   MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE
                                14   COMMITTEE.

                                16   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

                                17        SECTION 1.      Section 15-3A-1 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1989,

                                18   Chapter 363, Section 1) is amended to read:
                                19        "15-3A-1.      GOVERNOR'S RESIDENCE [ADVISORY COMMISSION]
                                20   MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE--CREATED.--
                                21  A.    There is created the "governor's residence
                                22   [advisory commission] management committee", which shall be
                                23   administratively attached to the general services department,
                                24   consisting of:
                                25  [B.    The commission shall consist of five members

                                1    selected as follows]
                                2  (1)   the governor or [his] the governor's
                                3    designee;
                                4  (2)   the secretary of general services or [his]
                                5    the secretary's designee from the facilities management
                                6    division of the general services department; and
                                7  (3)   three members appointed by the governor
                                8    [from a list of names submitted by the governor's mansion
                                9    foundation, a nonprofit, charitable corporation of this state.
                                10   The chairman of the commission shall be elected annually from
                                11   among the commission membership] who shall be appointed as
                                12   follows:
                                13  (a)   one member shall be appointed for a
                                14   term of two years; one member shall be appointed for a term of
                                15   three years; and one member shall be appointed for a term of
                                16   four years; and

                                17  (b)   upon the expiration of a term of a

                                18   member appointed by the governor pursuant to Subparagraph (a)
                                19   of this paragraph, the next appointed member shall be appointed
                                20   for a term of four years to maintain the staggered expiration

                                22  B.   The chair of the committee shall be designated
                                23   by the governor.
                                24  C.   Appointed members shall [serve for terms of four
                                25   years each and vacancies in any appointed member's seat shall

                                1    be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same
                                2    manner as the original appointment was made.
                                3  D.   Appointed members shall] receive no compensation
                                4    but shall be paid per diem and mileage as provided for
                                5    nonsalaried officers in the Per Diem and Mileage Act."
