RESOLUTION No. ____
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION celebrating the 40th
anniversary of the Indianapolis Children's Choir.
Whereas, Since its founding in 1986, the Indianapolis
Children's Choir has served more than 2,500 young people
each year through high-quality music education programs,
fostering artistic excellence, discipline, and personal growth
for children ages 18 months through 18 years;
Whereas, The Indianapolis Children's Choir draws
participants from nearly 20 counties across central Indiana,
representing hundreds of schools and school districts, and it
offers a wide range of choirs and educational pathways that
serve children of all abilities, including early childhood,
foundational, preparatory, performing, and special-needs
ensembles;
Whereas, The Indianapolis Children's Choir has earned
national and international recognition for artistic distinction
through performances at premier venues, appearances at
professional music conferences, collaborations with
world-class orchestras and artists, extensive touring, and a
broad catalog of recordings and broadcasts;
Whereas, The Indianapolis Children's Choir has played a
vital role in the cultural and civic life of Indiana through
performances at major artistic, historical, and public events,
while inspiring audiences and representing the state with
excellence on national and global stages;
Whereas, The Indianapolis Children's Choir's dedicated

faculty, staff, and volunteers have demonstrated an enduring
commitment to educational excellence, artistic integrity, and
the holistic development of every singer;
Whereas, Generations of alumni of the Indianapolis
Children's Choir have carried forward the values of leadership,
collaboration, and artistic achievement into their communities
and professions around the world; and
Whereas, The 40th anniversary of the Indianapolis Children's
Choir provides an opportunity to celebrate its lasting legacy
and reaffirm its mission to transform lives through music for
future generations: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
the Senate concurring:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly celebrates
the Indianapolis Children's Choir and its impact on central
Indiana youth and the arts.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
Representative Mitch Gore for distribution.
