1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law
5 of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by
6 changing Section 2105-368 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 2105/2105-368)
8 Sec. 2105-368. Data on applications.
9 (a) In conjunction with applications for licensure and
10 renewals, the Department shall request, and applicants may
11 voluntarily provide, demographic information that includes
12 sex, ethnicity, race, disability, primary language spoken,
13 anticipated date of retirement, type of employment, and zip
14 code.
15 (b) In conjunction with applications for health care
16 professional licensure and renewals, the Department shall
17 request, and applicants may voluntarily provide, practice
18 information that include areas of practice specialty,
19 addresses of all current practice locations, hours spent at
20 each practice location on direct outpatient care, the
21 applicant's National Provider Identifier (NPI) number if
22 applicable, and anticipated date of retirement. The Department
23 shall share this information with authorized personnel at the

1 Department of Public Health. Data specifically collected for
2 this subsection shall be exempt from the Freedom of
3 Information Act.
4 (c) On or before March 1 of each calendar year, the
5 Department shall publish a report on the Department's website
6 that contains aggregate data, including the demographic
7 information it collected pursuant to subsection (a) in the
8 preceding calendar year, the number of applications for
9 licensure and renewal of licensure it received in the
10 preceding calendar year, and the number of applicants who were
11 denied licensure in the preceding calendar year regardless of
12 whether application was made in that calendar year. None of
13 the data published pursuant to this Section shall identify a
14 health care professional's name or any other data that leads
15 to identification.
16 (d) As used in this subsection, "health care professional"
17 means a person who is licensed or has applied to be licensed by
18 the Department as a physician to practice medicine in all its
19 branches under the Medical Practice Act of 1987, an advanced
20 practice registered nurse under the Nurse Practice Act, or a
21 dentist under the Illinois Dental Practice Act.

Amends the Department of Professional Regulation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
