 AN ACT AUTHORIZING STATE BONDS FOR MUNICIPAL
 COMMERCIAL FACADE IMPROVEMENTS.
 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
 Assembly convened:
1That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the
2    issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the
3    general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate
4    twenty million dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the
5    Department of Economic and Community Development for the purpose
6    of providing grants-in-aid to municipalities for commercial facade
7    improvements.
    Statement of Purpose:
    To provide funding to municipalities for commercial facade
    improvements, encourage beautification programs in downtown
    corridors and promote foot traffic and economic activity.
