4 CELEBRATING TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY LEGISLATIVE DAY ON FEBRUARY
5 11, 2026.

7WHEREAS, Tuskegee University, founded in 1881 by
8 visionary Booker T. Washington, and located in Tuskegee,
9 Alabama, is a private Historically Black College and
10 University with a long-standing legacy of excellence in
11 education, research, workforce development, and public
12 service; and
13WHEREAS, it is the only college campus designated a
14 National Historic Site and holds the distinction of
15 producing over 75 percent of the world's African American
16 veterinarians and the most African American aerospace
17 engineers in the nation; and
18WHEREAS, Tuskegee University is world-renowned for
19 its "Legacy of Leadership," serving as the home of the
20 legendary Tuskegee Airmen and the groundbreaking work of
21 scientist George Washington Carver; and
22WHEREAS, on February 11, 2026, Tuskegee University
23 will host Legislative Day at the Alabama State House, under
24 the leadership of President Dr. Mark A. Brown, bringing
25 together university leadership, trustees, faculty, students,
26 and alumni to engage with members of the Alabama
27 Legislature; and
28WHEREAS, Legislative Day recognizes Tuskegee

29 University's historic and ongoing contributions to the State
30 of Alabama, including its nationally recognized programs in
31 agriculture, engineering, veterinary medicine, aviation, and
32 health sciences; now therefore,
33BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
34 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Tuskegee University is
35 hereby celebrated and congratulated on its profound
36 contributions to education and service, and this Legislature
37 welcomes its representatives to the Alabama State House for
38 the Tuskegee University Legislative Day on February 11,
39 2026.
