  RELATING TO HOLIDAYS AND DAYS OF SPECIAL OBSERVANCE-- DAYS OF
  SPECIAL OBSERVANCE

    It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1  SECTION 1. Chapter 25-2 of the General Laws entitled "Days of Special Observance" is
2   hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
3  25-2-62. Rhode Island senior center month.
4  The month of September in each and every year shall be set aside as a month to be known
5   as "Rhode Island Senior Center Month." Rhode Island senior centers act as catalysts for mobilizing
6   the creativity, energy, vitality, and commitment of older residents to the State of Rhode Island. This
7   month shall be observed by the people of this state with appropriate exercises in public places.
8  SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

1  This act would provide that the month of September in each year be designated "Rhode
2   Island Senior Center Month" with appropriate exercises in public places.
