Nimmons for theirexemplary leadership and service.Whereas, the SouthCarolina Senate is pleased to recognize exceptional young citizens whodemonstrate leadership, character, and a sustained commitment to communityservice; andWhereas, ScoutingAmerica's rank of Eagle Scout is the highest distinction in scouting and isearned by only a small percentage of scouts who complete rigorous requirementsin leadership, service, outdoor skills, and civic responsibility; andWhereas, on Saturday,February 7, 2026, during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony held at TrinityUnited Methodist Church in Orangeburg, five members of Scouting America Troops500 and 190 were inducted as Eagle Scouts; andWhereas, the distinguishedhonorees are Eagle Scouts Willie Rudolph Townes III of Troop 190, Derwyn IkeemBrailey of Troop 500, Khamari Dajon Cleckley of Troop 500, Sean Antonio Nimmonsof Troop 500, and Melvin Edward Hart Jr. of Troop 500; andWhereas, their jointinduction represents a historic milestone for South Carolina, marking thelargest group of African American Eagle Scouts inducted together, and stands asa powerful and fitting achievement recognized during Black History Month; andWhereas, as BlackHistory Month celebrates past trailblazers, these five Eagle Scouts arebuilding a living legacy of service, excellence, and leadership for the nextgeneration of South Carolinians; andWhereas, thisachievement reflects not only the individual determination of these scouts butalso the steadfast mentorship and guidance of Scoutmasters Ron Mosley and ErnestE.
