hb150/chaptered.txtENROLLED2026 Regular SessionACT No. 128HOUSE BILL NO. 150BY REPRESENTATIVE BOURRIAQUE1AN ACT2 To enact Chapter 18 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to be comprised3of R.S. 33:7151, relative to Cameron Parish; to authorize the creation of a local4insurance program; to provide relative to the administration and management of the5program; to provide relative to program eligibility; to authorize the creation of a6local insurance fund; and to provide for related matters.7Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published8as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of9Louisiana.10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:11Section 1. Chapter 18 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,12 comprised of R.S. 33:7151, is hereby enacted to read as follows:13CHAPTER 18. LOCAL INSURANCE PROGRAM; CAMERON PARISH14§7151. Local insurance program; Cameron Parish; creation15A. The governing authority of the parish of Cameron may establish, by16ordinance, a local insurance program, referred to in this Section as the "program",17to assist homeowners who reside within the parish with offsetting homeowners' and18flood insurance costs. The ordinance establishing the program shall provide for the19administration and management of the program. The ordinance shall also provide20for the adoption of rules and regulations to establish eligibility criteria to determine21which homeowners qualify for program assistance.22B. The parish governing authority may establish, by ordinance, a local23insurance fund to provide funding for the program. The parish governing2authority may also solicit and accept voluntary contributions and grants to carry out3the purposes of the program.4C. The program shall be modified or repealed as provided in the ordinance5establishing the program.
