OSTEN, 19th Dist.AN ACT CONCERNING THE BASIC PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONFOR VETERANS AND CERTAIN OTHER MILITARY-RELATEDINDIVIDUALS.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in GeneralAssembly convened:1 That subdivision (19) of section 12-81 of the general statutes be2 amended to provide, for any property belonging to or held in trust for3 any veteran or certain other military-related individual that is valued at4 less than seven hundred fifty thousand dollars, a property tax5 exemption in the amount of twenty thousand dollars off the assessed6 value of such property.Statement of Purpose:To (1) provide an increase in the exemption amount for propertybelonging to veterans and certain other military-related individuals,and (2) impose a cap on the value of any such property that would beeligible for such exemption.LCO No. 787 1 of 1
