s1316/introduced.txtLEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHOSixty-eighth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2026IN THE SENATESENATE BILL NO. 1316BY HEALTH AND WELFARE COMMITTEE1AN ACT2 RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY; AMENDING SECTION 39-907, IDAHO CODE, TO RE-3 VISE PROVISIONS REGARDING EXEMPTIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND4 PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:6 SECTION 1. That Section 39-907, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby7 amended to read as follows:839-907. EXEMPTIONS BECAUSE OF RELIGIOUS BELIEF. The provisions of9 this chapter shall not apply to any child whose parent or guardian: objects10 thereto on the grounds that it conflicts with the tenets or practices of a11 recognized church or religious denomination of which said parent or guardian12 is an adherent or member.13 (1) Objects on religious or other grounds, including philosophical or14 conscientious beliefs; or15 (2) Submits a certificate signed by a physician licensed by the state16 board of medicine stating that the physical condition of the child is such17 that all or any of the requirements of this chapter would endanger the life or18 health of the child.19 SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby20 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after21 July 1, 2026.
