Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONto congratulate the Catawba Ridge High Schoolsoftball team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and tohonor them for winning the south carolina class AAAAA Division II Championshiptitle.Whereas, the SouthCarolina House of Representatives is pleased to recognize the Catawba Ridge HighSchool softball team for capturing the South Carolina Class AAAAA Division II StateChampionship on May 29, 2025; andWhereas, under the outstandingleadership of Head Coach Michael Mayak and his dedicated coaching staff, the Copperheadscompiled an exceptional 31-2 overall record, consistently demonstratingdiscipline, determination, and a steadfast commitment to excellence throughoutthe season; andWhereas, to the excitementand pride of their loyal supporters, the Catawba Ridge Copperheads defeated ahighly talented St. James Sharks team by a score of 9-1 in the championship game,a decisive victory that reflected the team's perseverance, teamwork, andexemplary sportsmanship; andWhereas, theCopperheads earned a ranking of number one in the State of South Carolina and numbertwenty nationally by Sports Illustrated while securing their third consecutivestate championship, and over the past three seasons, have amassed anextraordinary 76-7 record, produced eighteen All-Region selections, eight All-Statehonorees, and two South Carolina Players of the Year; andWhereas, during thatsame period, seven student athletes have advanced to play Division I orDivision II collegiate softball, with two additional players set to compete atthe Division I level following graduation this year; andWhereas, the championshiproster includes players Peyton Batot, Camryn Bird, Charli Burney, Gabbey Cook,Jaidyn Harris, Aloni Hogans, Mia Kovacs, Kendra Murray, Keira O'Brien, ViaPetri, Kyrsten Reynolds, Sarah Rocheleau, Taylan Sistare, Hannah Smith, and BrynleeGrace Yates, whose accomplishments were achieved under the leadership of HeadCoach Michael Mayak, along with coaches Kyle Harris, and Josh Yates; andWhereas, the SouthCarolina House of Representatives takes great pride in honoring theseexceptional student athletes, who have brought distinction to their school,community, and state through their remarkable achievements, and the memberslook forward with confidence to the team's continued success in the years tocome.
