 CIVIL/PROCEDURE: Provides relative to service of process
1AN ACT
2 To enact Code of Civil Procedure Article 1313(E), relative to service of process; to provide
3that counsel of record may elect a preferred method of service; and to provide for
4related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6Section 1. Code of Civil Procedure Article 1313(E) is hereby enacted to read as
7 follows:
8Art. 1313. Service by mail, delivery, or electronic means

10E. At the onset of a case, counsel of record may inform the court of the
11counsel's preferred method of service for all future pleadings for the case at hand.

 electronic means.
 Proposed law retains present law and provides that counsel of record may elect a preferred
 method of service.
