California Coastal Commission: powers and duties.
The California Coastal Act of 1976 provides for the planning and regulation of development, under a coastal development permit process, within the coastal zone, as defined, that shall be based on various coastal resources planning and management policies set forth in the act. Existing law requires the California Coastal Commission to periodically review its regulations and procedures and determine what revisions, if any, are necessary and appropriate to simplify and expedite the review of any matter that is before the commission, as provided.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision relating to the commission.
The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 30333.1 of the
Public Resources Code
is amended to read:
30333.1.
The commission shall periodically review its regulations and procedures and determine what revisions, if any, are necessary and appropriate to expedite and simplify the review of any matter that is before the commission for action pursuant to this division. The commission shall implement, within 60 days of the review, any revisions it determines to be appropriate, so that its regulations and procedures may continue to be as expeditious and simple
as practicable.
