1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to state government; expanding the state auditor's duties; amending
1.3Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 6.01.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 6.01, is amended to read:
1.66.01 DUTIES, SEAL.
1.7(a) The state auditor shall superintend and manage the fiscal concerns of the state as
1.8required by law. The state auditor may execute in behalf of the state assignments and
1.9satisfactions of judgments rendered in its favor. The state auditor has the authority to
1.10investigate fraud and audit state agencies.
1.11(b) The state auditor shall have a seal bearing the words "Seal of the Auditor of
1.12Minnesota" and affix it to all official certificates and conveyances executed by the state
1.13auditor.
1.14(c) The state auditor shall develop and implement a fraud complaint line for individuals
1.15to report suspected fraud to the state auditor. The auditor shall implement an electronic tip
1.16form for use by the public.
