hjr79/introduced.txtUNOFFICIAL COPY 26 RS BR 22271A JOINT RESOLUTION directing the Transportation Cabinet to include Josh2 Martin on the Country Music Highway in Floyd County.3WHEREAS, Josh Martin is an artist from the coalfields of Eastern Kentucky whose4 musical works live somewhere beyond the outskirts of mainstream country music but5 comfortably on this side of the ancient bluegrass tones of his Appalachian heritage; and6WHEREAS, Josh Martin moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2013, where his7 singing, songwriting, and guitar playing helped him make quick friends with the8 legendary songwriting community on Music Row; and9WHEREAS, in 2016, Josh Martin signed his first publishing deal with Sony/ATV10 Music; and11WHEREAS, in 2017, Josh Martin's pop country songs "How'd You Know" and12 "Just My Luck" were released by Sony's Treehouse Records; and13WHEREAS, Josh Martin left Sony's Treehouse Records for the freedom to create14 and display his authentic take on American music; and15WHEREAS, in 2019, Josh Martin independently released his album, "Nothing16 Holding Me"; and17WHEREAS, in 2022, Josh Martin and a few of his friends formed the Wood Box18 Heroes and they released their self-titled album in April 2023. Their music has been19 featured on SiriusXM, Spotify, and Apple Music, and they have made several20 appearances on the Grand Ole Opry; and21WHEREAS, Josh Martin's guitar playing was featured on the 2023 Grammy-22 nominated Willie Nelson album, "Blue Grass"; and23WHEREAS, Josh Martin has demonstrated immense talent, and his career is a24 testament to his dedication to his craft and is worthy of being recognized by inclusion on25 the Country Music Highway in Floyd County;26NOW, THEREFORE,27 Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:Page 1 of 2XXXX 2/19/2026 10:31 AM JacketedUNOFFICIAL COPY 26 RS BR 22271Section 1.
