sr122/introduced.txtUNOFFICIAL COPY 26 RS BR 23571A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of John2 Douglas "Doug" Hubbard.3WHEREAS, John Douglas "Doug" Hubbard was born October 18, 1941, to the late4 EE and Marie Hubbard of Bardstown; and5WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard was a lifetime member of Bardstown United Methodist6 Church, and a proud Bardstown High School alum, class of 1959; and7WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where8 he served as president of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity; and9WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard attended the University of Kentucky College of Law10 and became a member of the bar in 1967; and11WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard practiced law with his father at Fulton, Hubbard &12 Hubbard Law Offices, where he spent more than 55 years passionately representing the13 people of Nelson County and the surrounding area; and14WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard also served as corporate attorney for Salt River Electric15 Cooperative for more than 30 years, a role he especially enjoyed; and16WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard was very involved in his community, having served as17 past president of the Kiwanis Club and the Nelson County Jaycees; and18WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard was named Outstanding Young Man in 1968 by the19 Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in growing his city, being inducted in the20 Nelson County Hall of Fame in 2004; and21WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard was a huge advocate for education, investing in the22 Bardstown Independent School System all his life, and being later appointed to the23 Kentucky Board of Education, as well as being inducted into the Bardstown High School24 Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007; and25WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Whitesides;26 his three children, Susan (Mike) Carson, John (Julie) Hubbard, and Char (Chris) Rhoads;27 his six grandchildren, Megan, Jack, and Ben Hubbard, and Clayton, Conner, andPage 1 of 2XXXX 2/26/2026 10:44 AM JacketedUNOFFICIAL COPY 26 RS BR 23571 Christopher Rhoads; his sisters, Lee (Mike) Lumpkin, and Debbie Greer; his niece, Leigh2 Morgan Lumpkin; his nephew, Doug (Liz Murphy) Lumpkin; and his great-niece, Eliza3 Leigh Lumpkin; and4WHEREAS, Doug Hubbard passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026;5NOW, THEREFORE,6 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of7 Kentucky:8Section 1.
