2AN ACT
3 To enact R.S. 46:2136.2(H), relative to domestic abuse assistance; to authorize the creation
4of a statewide portal to allow an online application for a protective order; to provide
5relative to a petition for a temporary restraining order; and to provide for related
6matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8Section 1. R.S. 46:2136.2(H) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9§2136.2. Louisiana Protective Order Registry; statewide portal

11H. The judicial administrator's office may develop and implement a
12statewide portal that allows petitioners to file an online petition requesting any
13protective order authorized by this Part. Notwithstanding any provisions of R.S.
1446:2134(D), any petition for a protective order filed through a statewide portal
15shall require an affirmation signed and dated by electronic means by the
16petitioner that the facts and circumstances contained in the petition are true
17and correct to the best knowledge, information, and belief of the petitioner,
18under penalty of perjury pursuant to R.S. 14:123. The affirmation shall be
19made before a witness who shall sign his name electronically.
