 HEALTH: Provides relative to consumable hemp products
1AN ACT
2 To repeal R.S. 3:1484(B)(5), relative to consumable hemp products; to remove prohibitions
3on the sale of consumable hemp products at certain locations; to provide for an
4effective date; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6Section 1. R.S. 3:1484(B)(5) is hereby repealed in its entirety.
7Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
8 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
9 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
10 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
11 effective on the day following such approval.

 Abstract: Allows the sale of consumable hemp products at retail locations that hold a Class
  A permit to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, such as bars and
  restaurants.
 Present law provides that no retail permit to sell consumable hemp products shall be issued
 to an applicant that holds a Class A permit to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premises
 consumption and that a person who held a Class A permit and retail permit to sell hemp
 before June 17, 2024, is allowed to maintain and renew the retail hemp permit.
 Proposed law repeals present law.
