WHEREAS, James L. Johnson, an esteemed faith leader, the pastor emeritus of Lyells Chapel Baptist Church in Warsaw, and a beloved member of the Northern Neck community, died on May 14, 2025; and
WHEREAS, James Johnson served for many years as the pastor at Lyells Chapel Baptist Church, where he devoted himself to providing his congregation with uplifting spiritual guidance, joyful occasions for worship and fellowship, and meaningful opportunities for ministry and outreach; and
WHEREAS, James Johnson dedicated himself to the growth, development, and longevity of Lyells Chapel Baptist Church while helping the congregation make positive and lasting contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, James Johnson will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by numerous family members, friends, and parishioners at Lyells Chapel Baptist Church; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of James L. Johnson, a cherished member of the Northern Neck community whose love, compassion, and leadership made a profound impact on countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of James L. Johnson as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
