1AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 17:3351(H), relative to student identification cards; to authorize each
3postsecondary system management board to make student identification cards
4available as a digitized credential; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6Section 1. R.S. 17:3351(H) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
7§3351. General powers, duties, and functions of postsecondary education
8management boards

10H. In addition to any other powers and duties authorized by this Section,
11each board may make student identification cards, within their respective
12system, available as a digitized credential as authorized by Subpart E of Part
13I of Chapter 1 of Title 39 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, commonly
14referred to as "LA Wallet". Student identification cards authorized by the
15provisions of this Subsection shall be obtained by a student at no charge. A
16biometric identification platform shall not charge any fee or payment for its use
17to any student, university, retail establishment, partnership, corporation, or any
18business.
