HR____ COMMENDING TIM GRABEN FOR 50 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH
THE ROSALIE RESCUE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, it is with profound appreciation and deepest
admiration that we commend Tim Graben for 50 years of
distinguished public service and steadfast commitment to the
residents of Jackson County through his work with Rosalie
Rescue Squad and Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Tim Graben's journey with the Rosalie Rescue
Squad is a testament to lifelong community service; starting
as a young boy roaming the streets on a bicycle, he has
become a cornerstone of emergency services in the Rosalie
community; and
WHEREAS, in 1969, Tim began volunteering at just 12
years of age when he was recruited by local Boy Scout
leaders; three years prior, he was known for helping his
father repair a neighbor's roof following a tornado; and
WHEREAS, as a youth, Tim used his high energy to
track missing persons in areas that adults could not reach;
he later specialized in water searches, mastering boat
navigation and motor maintenance on the Tennessee River; and
WHEREAS, when Rosalie established its first fire
department in 1972, Tim was an early volunteer; more than 50
years later, he remains active with the Tri-Community Fire
Department; over the years, Tim has held a variety of

high-ranking positions, including Co-Captain, First
Lieutenant, and currently, Second Lieutenant over Water
Operations; and
WHEREAS, Tim is described as a "handyman" for the
squad, utilizing a wide range of practical skills; he
maintains the squad's buildings and ensures boats and
vehicles are rescue-ready; he has also pursued extensive
education in rope rescue, tracking, and advanced water
rescue techniques; and
WHEREAS, Tim's influence extends far beyond his own
work; he is a dedicated supporter of community events, from
working roadblocks to staying up all night smoking barbecue
for fundraisers; his involvement in fire and rescue has also
inspired a family tradition of service, with his brother,
sisters, children, and grandchildren following his lead to
join the squad; and
WHEREAS, after 50 years of service, Tim remains a
vital asset to his hometown, helping to make his "corner of
the world" a better place; his dedication and commitment to
Rosalie set an example for all to follow; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we hereby most highly commend
Tim Graben for faithful devotion to his community as a
member of Rosalie Rescue and Fire Department, and we extend
to him our heartfelt gratitude and sincere best wishes for
continued health, happiness, and fulfillment in his future
endeavors.
