 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE EFFECTS
 OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE TRADES INDUSTRY.
 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
 Assembly convened:
1Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force
2    to study the effects of the use of artificial intelligence on the trades
3    industry. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, an
4    examination of (1) job displacement of employees in the trades industry
5    as a result of artificial intelligence being used in the trades industry, and
6    (2) current coursework and curriculum of the Technical and Education
7    Career System regarding the use of artificial intelligence.
8(b) The task force shall consist of the following members:
9(1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives;
10(2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate;
11     (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of
12   Representatives;
13(4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate;
14     (5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of
15   Representatives;

16   (6) One appointed by the minority leader of the Senate;
17   (7) The Labor Commissioner, or the commissioner's designee;
18   (8) The executive director of the Technical Education and Career
19 System;
20   (9) The Chief Workforce Officer, or the officer's designee; and
21    (10) The Commissioner of Economic and Community Development,
22 or the commissioner's designee.
23    (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1),
24 (2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member
25 of the General Assembly.
26    (d) All initial appointments to the task force shall be made not later
27 than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall
28 be filled by the appointing authority.
29    (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro
30 tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from
31 among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule
32 the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty
33 days after the effective date of this section.
34   (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the
35 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor and
36 public employees shall serve as administrative staff of the task force.
37     (g) Not later than January 1, 2027, the task force shall submit a report
38 on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of
39 the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor
40 and public employees, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-
41 4a of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date that
42 it submits such report or January 1, 2027, whichever is later.

 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
 sections:

trades industry" was added for clarity.
