h8233/introduced.txt2026 -- H 8233========LC005932========STATE OF RHODE ISLANDIN GENERAL ASSEMBLYJANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026____________HOUSE RESOLUTIONRECOGNIZING MARCH 2026 AS "NATIONAL CREDIT EDUCATION MONTH" ANDCOMMENDING THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT FOCUS ON FINANCIAL LITERACYEDUCATION IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLANDIntroduced By: Representatives Santucci, Fascia, Tanzi, Roberts, Nardone, Hopkins,Paplauskas, Chippendale, Newberry, and SanchezDate Introduced: March 05, 2026Referred To: House read and passed1WHEREAS, Annually, National Credit Education Month promotes education about2 financial literacy topics such as credit and the significance of responsible credit management; and3WHEREAS, National Credit Education Month encourages pioneers in credit restoration4 and education, as well as banks, businesses, and organizations, to provide opportunities for5 people to enhance their financial skills and access the information and tools needed to achieve a6 high credit score; and7WHEREAS, During the month, organizations that provide educational resources offer8 services including workshops, webinars, and seminars to help consumers learn about budgeting,9 saving, debt management, credit scores, and credit reports; and10WHEREAS, National Credit Education Month reminds consumers to review their credit11 reports for errors or inaccuracies and helps individuals gain access to higher loan acceptance rates12 and qualifications; and13WHEREAS, During this month, individuals are encouraged to take steps to learn more14 about managing credit and creating good financial habits that will ensure an excellent credit15 report; now, therefore be it16RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island recognizes17 March 2026 as "National Credit Education Month" and commends the many organizations that18 focus on financial literacy education in the State of Rhode Island such as: RI Jump$tart Coalition,19 Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Financial Capability Consortium, Capital1 Good Fund, Financial Literacy Youth Initiative (FLY), Navigant Credit Union, Washington2 Trust, Westerly Community Credit Union, along with several others; and be it further3RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to4 transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the National Financial Educators Council.========LC005932========LC005932 - Page 2 of 2
