hr361/enrolled.txtCommending the Manchester Middle School cheer squad.Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 10, 2026WHEREAS, the Manchester Middle School cheer squad of Chesterfield County earned second place in the intermediate division of the Chesterfield County Public Schools cheer competition; andWHEREAS, the Manchester Middle School cheer squad was runner-up out of seven teams, placing in the county middle school cheer competition for the first time since 2003; andWHEREAS, the remarkable finish for the Manchester Middle School cheer squad was the reflection of three seasons of hard work, in which the coaches and their athletes have transformed a developing program into one defined by perseverance, sisterhood, and pride in their school community; andWHEREAS, through countless hours of practice, creative problem solving, and unwavering dedication, the Manchester Middle School cheer squad overcame significant barriers; andWHEREAS, with limited prior cheer training, the Manchester Middle School cheer squad developed their own choreography, created their own music, and adapted to a variety of challenges to execute a stunning and impressive cheer program; andWHEREAS, the Manchester Middle School cheer squad's students and coaches led fundraising efforts, and the school's principal secured grant funding to support the program with uniforms, poms, and specialized training opportunities; andWHEREAS, the members of the Manchester Middle School cheer squad are Londyn Daniels, Nazaria Carter, Eleyah Johnson, Demaya Johnston, Tionna Coleman, Kennedy Wilson, Elise Mosley, Bria Wilson, Karmen White, Sophia Dempsey, Khloe Rivers, Qassie Powell, Kayla Coleman, Melani Rosa Beatty, Layla Hodari, Dabira Badmus, and CheMya Boyd; andWHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Manchester Middle School cheer squad are the result of the hard work and dedication of its students, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Manchester Middle School community; now, therefore, be itRESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Manchester Middle School cheer squad hereby be commended for placing second at the Chesterfield County Public Schools cheer competition; and, be itRESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Manchester Middle School cheer squad as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievement and best wishes for the program's continued success.
