Moore, RomerDELAWARE STATE SENATE153rd GENERAL ASSEMBLYSENATE BILL NO. 253AS AMENDED BYHOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO SCHOOL BULLYING.BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:Section 1. Amend § 4164, Title 14 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:§ 4164. School bullying awareness and prevention; criminal youth gang detection.(b)Prohibition of bullying. —(2) Each school district and charter school shall establish a policy which, at a minimum, includesall ofthe following components:j. A requirement thatthe school use the Department of Education’s template to notifya parent ofanya student who is an allegedtarget of bullying oran allegedperpetrator ofbullying be notified and provided with a form to be generated by the Department of Justice describing the role of the Department of Justice School Ombudsman and providing contact information. This form must also inform a parent of the parent’s right to know when the bullying incident in question has been reported to the Department of Education under paragraph (b)(2)k. of this section.bullying.
