WHEREAS, James C. Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., in Franklin, which has greatly served the Franklin community for 50 years, was named the Business of the Year in 2025 by the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Wright Funeral Home was founded in 1976 by James Wright, and it is currently owned and operated by his son, William “Barky” Wright, who has upheld the traditions of service, integrity, and community involvement that have defined the business from the beginning; and
WHEREAS, Wright Funeral Home serves families with the utmost dignity and respect as it guides them through the process of honoring and celebrating their loved ones' lives; and
WHEREAS, Wright Funeral Home has adapted and expanded its services over the years to better accommodate its clientele, adding a pet crematory service to the business in 2013; and
WHEREAS, by providing professional, compassionate, and thoughtful care and service to grieving families in their time of need, Wright Funeral Home has made a profound and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend James C. Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., on the occasion of its 50th anniversary for being named the 2025 Business of the Year by the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to James C. Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its contributions to Franklin and the Commonwealth.
