Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONTO AUTHORIZE THE GREENVILLE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIANASSOCIATION TO USE THE CHAMBER OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA House of representativesAND ANY AVAILABLE COMMITTEE HEARING ROOMS IN THE Blatt BUILDING FOR ITS YOUTHIN GOVERNMENT PROGRAM ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, ANDMONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2026. HOWEVER, THE CHAMBER MAY NOT BE USED IF THE House ofrepresentatives IS IN SESSION OR THE CHAMBER IS OTHERWISE UNAVAILABLE.Whereas, the Youth inGovernment program is designed to provide first-hand experience in the statelegislature and government affairs for high school and middle school students;andWhereas, studentstaking part in the program will run for statewide office, enact legislation,and organize their own government; andWhereas, the purpose ofthe YMCA in Government program is to encourage our youth to develop enthusiasmand appreciation for government and community affairs; andWhereas, almost onethousand five hundred students in the State are expected to participate thisyear, making the South Carolina Youth in Government program one of the largestper capita in the nation. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:That the members of theSouth Carolina House of Representatives,by this resolution, authorize the Greenville Young Men's Christian Associationto use the Chamber of the South Carolina House of Representatives and anyavailable committee hearing rooms in the Blatt Building for its Youth inGovernment program on Thursday, November 12, Friday, November 13, and Monday,November 16, 2026. However, the chamber may not be used if the House is insession or the chamber is otherwise unavailable.Be it further resolvedthat the use of the chamber and the available committee hearing rooms by theGreenville YMCA must be in strict accordance with policies and the Rules of theHouse of Representatives.Be it further resolvedthat the Office of the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives shallprovide assistance and access as necessary for this meeting in accordance withapplicable procedures of the Rules of the House of Representatives.Be it further resolvedthat a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Executive Director of theYMCA Youth in Government program and to House of Representatives Sergeant atArms Mitchell G.
