1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. APPROPRIATION; COALITION OF ASIAN AMERICAN LEADERS
1.6FOR ASIAN HISTORY.
1.7$1,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the arts and cultural heritage fund
1.8to the governing board of the Minnesota Historical Society for a grant to the Coalition of
1.9Asian American Leaders to document unheard stories of Asian Minnesotans to educate the
1.10public about the history of Asian migration to Minnesota and experiences of Asian Americans
1.11in Minnesota. The appropriation supports research, translation and interpretation, project
1.12staffing, community outreach, production, and marketing. The Coalition of Asian American
1.13Leaders may provide grant funding to project partners to support the documentation of
1.14stories within ethnically specific Asian Minnesotan communities.
