1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital projects at Southwest
1.3Minnesota State University; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4    BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY.
1.6Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $24,357,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.7    fund to the board of trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for capital
1.8    projects at Southwest Minnesota State University campus. Of this appropriation:
1.9(1) $15,157,000 is to design, construct, furnish, and equip the renovation of athletic,
1.10   locker room, instructional and other space, update of mechanical systems and other
1.11   infrastructure, and for other improvements and betterments of a capital nature at the Physical
1.12   Education building;
1.13(2) $8,000,000 is to design, construct, furnish, and equip an indoor sports and recreation
1.14   dome to provide indoor athletic, wellness, and recreation space; and
1.15(3) $1,200,000 is to design, construct, furnish, and equip the renovation of the Physical
1.16   Education gymnasium.
1.17Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.18   proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.19   the state in an amount up to $24,357,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.20   prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.21   Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.22EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
