A senate RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR the Boeing Company, Boeing
South Carolina for advancing to the top four of the 2026 Manufacturing Madness:
The Coolest Thing Made in South Carolina contest.
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize the Boeing Company, Boeing
South Carolina for advancing to the top four of the 2026 Manufacturing Madness:
The Coolest Thing Made in South Carolina contest; and
Whereas, Boeing South
Carolina is a manufacturer located in North Charleston and has been in
operation in South Carolina since 2009; and
Whereas, Boeing South
Carolina is home to a highly skilled workforce of more than nine thousand
employees who play a vital role in the assembly and production of the Boeing
787 Dreamliner, one of the most advanced and efficient commercial aircraft in
aviation history; and
Whereas, the Boeing 787
Dreamliner has achieved remarkable manufacturing milestones, with a global
fleet of more than one thousand jets connecting the world more efficiently and
comfortably, more than two thousand total orders from eighty-nine customers
worldwide, and over one billion passengers carried; and
Whereas, the Boeing 787
Dreamliner is a testament to advanced manufacturing and is the bestselling
passenger widebody aircraft in aviation, offering a game-changing combination
of fuel efficiency, range flexibility, and passenger comfort; and
Whereas, Boeing is a
dedicated corporate citizen in South Carolina, investing more than one hundred
twenty-five million dollars in charitable initiatives supporting education,
arts and culture, health and human services, civic engagement, and
environmental sustainability; and
Whereas, through its
DreamLearners program, Boeing has reached more than one million South Carolina
students, inspiring future generations through hands-on learning experiences
and virtual STEM education opportunities; and
Whereas, with more than
six thousand manufacturing facilities producing world-class products across the
State, Boeing South Carolina advanced to the Top Four of the 2026 Manufacturing
Madness: The Coolest Thing Made in South Carolina contest, distinguishing
itself among one hundred twenty-one nominated products; and
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment that
the Boeing Company, Boeing South Carolina has shown in serving the people and
the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the
South Carolina Senate, by this resolution,
recognize and honor the Boeing Company, Boeing South Carolina for advancing to
the top four of the 2026 Manufacturing Madness: The Coolest Thing Made in South
Carolina contest.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to the president and CEO of Boeing
South Carolina.
