s1408/introduced.txtLEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHOSixty-eighth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2026IN THE SENATESENATE BILL NO. 1408BY FINANCE COMMITTEE1AN ACT2 RELATING TO THE APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT3 PROGRAM'S DIVISION OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND;4 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS EDUCATIONAL5 SUPPORT PROGRAM'S DIVISION OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR THE DEAF AND6 THE BLIND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027; APPROPRIATING GENERAL FUND MONEYS FOR7 TRANSFER TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOL INCOME FUND; CLARIFYING THE ORIGINAL FUND8 SOURCE FOR EXPENDITURES IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PRO-9 GRAM'S DIVISION OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND FOR10 FISCAL YEAR 2027 FROM THE GENERAL FUND; CLARIFYING THE ORIGINAL FUND11 SOURCE FOR EXPENDITURES IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PRO-12 GRAM'S DIVISION OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND FOR13 FISCAL YEAR 2027 FROM THE SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND ENDOWMENT14 FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.15 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:16 SECTION 1. In addition to any other appropriation provided by law,17 there is hereby appropriated to the Public Schools Educational Support18 Program's Division of Educational Services for the Deaf and the Blind the19 following amounts to be expended from the listed funds for the period July 1,20 2026, through June 30, 2027:21 FROM:22 Public School Income Fund $335,90023 School for the Deaf and the Blind Endowment Fund 20,40024 TOTAL $356,30025 SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated and the Office of the State Con-26 troller shall transfer $335,900 from the General Fund to the Public School27 Income Fund on July 1, 2026, or as soon thereafter as practicable for the pe-28 riod July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.29 SECTION 3. Of the additional amounts appropriated in Section 1 of this30 act for the Public Schools Educational Support Program's Division of Educa-31 tional Services for the Deaf and the Blind $335,900 shall be considered ex-32 pended from the General Fund for the period July 1, 2026, through June 30,33 2027.34 SECTION 4. Of the additional amounts appropriated in Section 1 of this35 act for the Public Schools Educational Support Program's Division of Educa-36 tional Services for the Deaf and the Blind $20,400 shall be considered ex-37 pended from the School for the Deaf and the Blind Endowment Fund for the pe-38 riod July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.21 SECTION 5. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby2 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after3 July 1, 2026.
