Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A concurrent RESOLUTIONTO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR Bill ReynoldS of Aiken CountyFOr his outstanding civic leadership, dedicated community service, andexceptional role as chairman of the "All Hands on Deck" Campaign for AikenSenior Life Services and to commend him for many years of volunteerism that hasstrengthened the city of aiken and improved the quality of life for itscitizens.Whereas, the members ofthe South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to recognize individuals whoseleadership and selfless service enhance their communities and inspire others;andWhereas, after abusiness career with Proctor and Gamble, Bill Reynolds has distinguishedhimself as one of Aiken County's most dedicated civic leaders, generouslycontributing his time, expertise, and energy to numerous community initiativesthat have strengthened the cultural, civic, and philanthropic life of the Cityof Aiken; andWhereas, most recently,Mr. Reynolds served as chairman of the "All Hands on Deck" Campaign for AikenSenior life Services, an ambitious effort designed to create a financialreserve for the organization's Meals on Wheels program to ensure that seniorsin Aiken County will never go without a meal even during periods of funding uncertainty;andWhereas, under hisleadership, the campaign assembled a talented team of community leaders andachieved unprecedented unity, receiving one hundred percent participation andsupport from Aiken Senior Life Services' Board of Directors, campaign committeemembers and full-time staff; andWhereas, a civicleader, Mr. Reynolds has served with many community organizations since movingto Aiken in 2000, including serving as chairman of "Celebrate Aiken!," whichorganized twenty-six events for the one hundred seventy-fifth anniversary ofthe city's founding; president of the Aiken Center of the Arts, where he servedin a variety of roles, including interim executive director and chairman of theEndowment Committee; leadership roles with the Friends of Hopelands and RyePatch; chairman of Horse Play, a community art project involving thirty-onefiberglass horses decorated by local artists to raise money for scholarshipsfor children and the elderly at the Aiken Center of the Arts; member of the Cityof Aiken Planning Commission in 2001, for which he also served as chairman from2008-2010; chairman of the City of Aiken Open Space Task Force from 2007-2011;and president of the Friends of Aiken County Library, leading the librarythrough a multi-million dollar major renovation in 2021; andWhereas, over theyears, Mr. Reynolds has received a number of honors and awards, including the AikenStandard Person of the Year in both 2010 and 2021 and the Greater AikenChamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 2020 for his tireless efforts in theAiken community; andWhereas, Mr. Reynolds ismarried to his wife of forty-one years, Susan, and together, they have fourchildren and seven grandchildren; andWhereas, the members ofthe South Carolina General Assembly greatly appreciate the dedication andcommitment that Mr. Reynolds has shown in serving the people and the State ofSouth Carolina.
