1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to economic development; appropriating money for a nanoparticle iron
1.3nitride permanent magnet manufacturing facility.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. APPROPRIATION; NANOPARTICLE IRON NITRIDE PERMANENT
1.6MAGNET MANUFACTURING FACILITY.
1.7$50,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the Minnesota forward fund account
1.8to the commissioner of employment and economic development to match existing federal
1.9funding made available by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, Public Law 119-75.
1.10This appropriation must be used to construct and operate a nanoparticle iron nitride permanent
1.11magnet manufacturing facility. This appropriation is not subject to the requirements of
1.12Minnesota Statutes, section 116J.8752, subdivision 5. The commissioner may use up to two
1.13percent of this appropriation for administration. This is a onetime appropriation and is
1.14available until June 30, 2030. Any money that remains unspent is canceled to the general
1.15fund.
