Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A concurrent RESOLUTIONTO EXPRESS SINCEREGRATITUDE TO THE PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS AND SPONSORS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINARESTAURANT AND LODGING ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL HOSPITALITY DAY LEGISLATIVELUNCHEON AND TO RECOGNIZE WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, 2026, AS "HOSPITALITY DAY" INSOUTH CAROLINA.Whereas, the SouthCarolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) annually hosts HospitalityDay at the State House, featuring its signature "A Taste of South Carolina"legislative luncheon, which showcases a diverse array of the state'srestaurants and outstanding public high school culinary programs; andWhereas, this eventhighlights the strength, creativity, and resilience of South Carolina'shospitality industry and provides a valuable opportunity for industry leaders,legislators, and staff to gather in recognition of the important partnershipbetween the General Assembly and the businesses that serve millions ofresidents and visitors each year; andWhereas, SouthCarolina's hospitality industry is a cornerstone of the state's economy, comprisingmore than 11,700 restaurant and lodging establishments and employing over 340,000individuals across all regions of the State; andWhereas, the industrygenerates an annual economic impact of approximately $31 billion dollars andsupports one in eight jobs statewide, making it one of South Carolina's largestand most dynamic economic drivers; andWhereas, the members ofthe General Assembly recognize the essential role the hospitality industryplays in driving tourism, supporting local communities, creating careeropportunities, and enhancing the quality of life for all South Carolinians; andWhereas, HospitalityDay provides a meaningful occasion to celebrate these contributions and toexpress appreciation for the industry's continued investment in the state'seconomic prosperity.
