1AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 26:81.1(A) and 281.1(A) and to enact R.S. 26:81.1(D) and
3281.1(D), relative to limitations on the issuance of certain alcohol beverage permits;
4to extend the moratorium on the issuance of alcoholic beverage permits in certain
5areas; to provide for exceptions; to provide for definitions; and to provide for related
6matters.
7Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
8as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
9Louisiana.
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
11Section 1. R.S. 26:81.1(A) and 281.1(A) are hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.
12 26:81.1(D) and 281.1(D) are hereby enacted to read as follows:
13§81.1. Limitation on issuance of permits
14A. Beginning on August 1, 2025, and ending on December 31, 2026 2027,
15no permits for the sale of alcoholic beverages under pursuant to this Chapter shall
16be granted within the boundaries of District 3 of the Louisiana House of
17Representatives.

19D.(1) The provisions of this Section do not apply to a national chain of
20restaurants or stores.
21(2) For the purposes of this Section, the term "national chain" means a
22company that operates in ten or more states.
