HR____ CONGRATULATING THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA IN
HUNTSVILLE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS HISTORIC SEASON.
WHEREAS, highest commendations and congratulations
are herein proudly presented to The University of Alabama in
Huntsville (UAH) Women's Basketball Team for its historic
2025-26 season, culminating in competing in the National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Final
Four; and
WHEREAS, through teamwork, diligence, and a
commitment to excellence, the UAH Chargers finished with a
program-record 32 wins, including 21 conference victories,
while also setting records for home wins with 20 and NCAA
Tournament wins with four; and
WHEREAS, the Chargers claimed their first-ever Gulf
South Conference (GSC) Regular Season Championship, earned a
Top 25 national ranking for the first time in program
history, and hosted the NCAA South Regional for the first
time; and
WHEREAS, the UAH Women's Basketball Team won the NCAA
South Regional Championship against Eckerd 66-46 to advance
to the Elite Eight; subsequently, the team defeated Cal Poly
Pomona 61-53 and advanced to the NCAA Division II Final
Four; despite the team's loss in the Final Four, the
Chargers capped off the most successful season in program

history; and
WHEREAS, the historic UAH Chargers team includes Lili
Wilken, Ava McSwain, Bella White, Mia Hollingsworth, Millie
Brown, Danika Starr, Ivey Maddox, Paris Opelt, Chloe Siegel,
Lindsay Garner, Grace Lynch, and McKenzie Percoski; the team
was expertly coached by Head Coach Allen Sharpe, who was
named GSC Coach of the Year in his second season leading the
program, and Assistant Coaches Summer Cramer and Kyle
Overstreet; support staff included Graduate Assistant
Jeremia Montgomery and Student Manager Olivia Vandergriff;
and
WHEREAS, individually, guard Lili Wilken capped off
her historic season with a program-record of 836 points; she
is one of the most decorated players in program history and
was selected to the GSC All-Tournament Team, named the South
Regional Most Outstanding Player, and earned a spot on the
South Regional All-Tournament Team; the team also collected
numerous postseason honors, including conference and
national awards for players and Head Coach Allen Sharpe; and
WHEREAS, from cutting down the nets in Huntsville to
reaching the Final Four in Pittsburgh, the 2025-26 Chargers
established a new standard for UAH women's basketball and
delivered a season that will be remembered as a defining
chapter in program history; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That The University of Alabama in
Huntsville Women's Basketball Team is highly congratulated,
and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the team members
