 WATER/WELLS: Provides for metering devices
1AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 38:2502, relative to metering devices; to allow the removal of clamp-metering
3devices and limit pumpage fees for any parish with a certain population range; to
4direct the Louisiana State Law Institute to redesignate the heading of a certain area
5of law; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7Section 1. R.S. 38:2502 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
8§2502. Metering devices; pumpage fees
9Any parish with a population of not less than nineteen thousand and not more
10than nineteen thousand six hundred according to the latest federal decennial census
11shall be subject to the following provisions:
12(1) Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters may be removed.
13(2) Pumpage fees shall not exceed forty dollars for every million gallons
14pumped.
15Section 2. The Louisiana State Law Institute is hereby authorized and directed to
16 redesignate the part heading of R.S. 38:2501, "PART I. POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE
17 LOUISIANA WILDLIFE AND FISHERIES COMMISSION" as "PART I. GENERAL".

Abstract: Allows the removal of clamp-metering devices and limits pumpage fees for
  parishes with a population of nineteen thousand to nineteen thousand six hundred.
Proposed law allows the removal of clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters for any parish with a
population between 19,000 and 19,600 according to the latest federal decennial census.
Proposed law limits the pumpage fees to $40 per million gallons for any parish with a
population between 19,000 and 19,600 according to the latest federal decennial census.
Redesignates the headings of present law provisions providing for powers and duties of the
La. Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.
