1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; amending a prior appropriation for capital projects
1.3owned by the Lincoln-Pipestone Rural Water System; amending Laws 2023,
1.4chapter 71, article 1, section 15, subdivision 9.
1.5    BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6Section 1. Laws 2023, chapter 71, article 1, section 15, subdivision 9, is amended to read:
1.7    Subd. 9. Lincoln-Pipestone Rural Water System  11,500,000
1.8    (a) For one or more grants to the
1.9    Lincoln-Pipestone Rural Water System for the
1.10   purposes described in this subdivision.
1.11   (1) $4,000,000 of this appropriation is to
1.12   design, construct, and equip a biological
1.13   filtration water source improvements and
1.14   water treatment system improvements for the
1.15   reduction of nitrate removal and other
1.16   contaminants.
1.17   (2) $2,500,000 of this appropriation is to
1.18   design and construct improvements and
1.19   betterments of a capital nature to water
1.20   treatment facilities in Fortier Township,
1.21   including contact basin and water storage
1.22   improvements.

2.1 (3) $5,000,000 of this appropriation is to
2.2 acquire property and to design and construct
2.3 water storage and distribution infrastructure,
2.4 including booster stations and new water
2.5 connecting pipelines.
2.6 (b) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes,
2.7 section 16A.642, this appropriation is available
2.8 until December 31, 2028.
2.9     EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
