[Local approval received.]The Commonwealth of Massachusetts_______________In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court(2025-2026)_______________An Act relative to a certain retirement benefit to be paid to the surviving spouse of fallen officer,Stephen LaPorta, of the police department of the town of Uxbridge.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authorityof the same, as follows:1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, and in order to2 promote the public good, the annual pension amount to be paid by the Worcester regional3 retirement system pursuant to section 100 of chapter 32 of the General Laws to Shannon4 LaPorta, the surviving spouse of Stephen LaPorta, shall be calculated based upon Stephen5 LaPorta holding the rank of sergeant at the time of his death.6 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of January 8, 2026.1 of 1
