No. 5342The Commonwealth of Massachusetts_______________In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court(2025-2026)_______________An Act authorizing the town of Bridgewater to issue an additional license for the sale of allalcohol beverages not to be drunk on the premises.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authorityof the same, as follows:1SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, the2 licensing authority of the town of Bridgewater may grant an additional license for the sale of all3 alcoholic beverages not to be drunk on premises pursuant to section 15 of said chapter 138 to4 KOTAK LLC, D/B/A Pages III Beer and Wine located at 233 Broad Street in the town of5 Bridgewater. The license shall be subject to all of said chapter 138 except said section 17.6(b) The licensing authority shall not approve the transfer of the license granted under this7 section to any other location but it may grant the license to a new applicant at the same location8 if the applicant files with the licensing authority a letter from the department of revenue and a9 letter from the department of unemployment assistance indicating the license is in good standing10 with those departments and that all applicable taxes, fees and contributions have been paid.11(c) If a licensee terminates or fails to renew a license granted under this section or any12 such license is cancelled, revoked or no longer in use, it shall be returned physically, with all of13 the legal rights, privileges and restrictions pertaining thereto, to the licensing authority and the1 of 214 licensing authority may, within 3 years after such return, then grant the license to a new applicant15 at the same location under the same conditions as specified in this section, otherwise such license16 shall dissolve.17(d) A license granted under this section shall be issued within 2 years after the effective18 date of this act; provided, however, that license originally granted within that time period may be19 granted to a new applicant under subsections (b) and (c) thereafter.20SECTION 2. Upon the issuance of the license authorized in section 1, the licensee shall21 return physically, with all of the legal rights, privileges and restrictions pertaining thereto, to the22 licensing authority, its license for the sale of wine and malt beverages not to be drunk on the23 premises under section 15 of chapter 138.24SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.2 of 2
