APPROPRIATION; YOUTH STABILIZATION PROGRAM GRANT.1.6Subdivision 1. Department of Education. The sum indicated in this section is1.7 appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of education in the fiscal year1.8 designated.1.9Subd. 2. Youth Stabilization Program grant. (a) For a grant to support Build Wealth1.10 Minnesota to implement the Youth Stabilization Program to provide research-based financial1.11 literacy curriculum aligned with kindergarten through grade 12 financial literacy standards.1.12$ 1,470,000 ..... 20271.13(b) The grant money must be used to:1.14(1) support middle school and high school financial literacy instruction;1.15(2) help school districts meet financial literacy education requirements through practical,1.16 real-world financial education;1.17(3) implement the Youth Stabilization Program curriculum across grade levels and1.18 courses that serve as a comprehensive financial readiness program for high school seniors1.19 preparing to transition into adulthood;1.20(4) provide student licenses for the Youth Stabilization Program financial literacy1.21 curriculum;Section 1. 103/27/26 REVISOR CR/MI 26-08287 as introduced2.1 (5) support district integration of the curriculum into middle school and high school2.2 coursework;2.3 (6) provide implementation guidance and instructional support to participating school2.4 districts; and2.5 (7) expand access to financial literacy education for Minnesota students.2.6 (c) By October 1, 2028, the grant recipient must report to the chairs and ranking minority2.7 members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over kindergarten through grade2.8 12 education on the activities and outcomes funded by this appropriation. The report must2.9 include but is not limited to information about the number of schools and students that were2.10 provided access to financial literacy instruction through the Youth Stabilization Program;2.11 the number of districts that implemented financial literacy education; examples of the2.12 curriculum developed by the Youth Stabilization Program; and a summary of the2.13 implementation support provided to participating schools.Section 1. 2
