hcr55/enrolled.txtENROLLED2026 Regular SessionHOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 55BY REPRESENTATIVE BRASS AND SENATOR PRICECommends the Lutcher High School girls and boys power lifting teams for winning theLouisiana High School Powerlifting Association 2026 Division II statechampionshipsA CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONTo commend the Lutcher High School girls and boys power lifting teams for winning theLouisiana High School Powerlifting Association 2026 Division II statechampionships.WHEREAS, it is most fitting to recognize the Lutcher High School boys and girlspowerlifting teams for their outstanding achievements at the Louisiana High SchoolPowerlifting Association State Meet and to commend both teams on winning the 2026Division II state titles; andWHEREAS, the Lutcher High School boys powerlifting team captured the DivisionII boys state title by narrowly outperforming the talented teams from Lakeshore High Schooland Northwood High School; andWHEREAS, led by Head Coach Chris Daigle, the Lutcher boys delivered incredibleindividual performances during the state meet; Coy Ruiz placed first in the one hundredninety-eight pound weight class, and Colin Hastings placed first in the two hundred seventy-five pound weight class; in the one hundred thirty-two pound weight class, Chase Oubreplaced fifth, and Ethan Albert placed eighth; Blayr St. Pierre placed eighth in the onehundred sixty-five pound weight class, and Elijah Fobb placed third in the two hundredtwenty pound weight class; in the one hundred eighty-one pound weight class, DreySzubinski placed fourth, and Aiden Louque placed tenth; Nicholas Magendie placed secondin the super heavyweight class; andWHEREAS, the Lutcher girls dominated the competition and captured the DivisionII girls state title by a significant margin; andPage 1 of 2HCR NO. 55 ENROLLEDWHEREAS, led by co-Head Coaches Jon and Kelly Magendie, the Lutcher girlsshowcased the team's incredible talent during the state meet; Avery St. Pierre placed first inher weight class, received the Best Lifter award, set the state record for squat and deadlift,and set the composite state record; Addison St. Pierre placed first in her weight class and setstate records in squat and bench; Danielle Louque, Colbee Mitchell, and Gabriella Bivonaeach placed first in their respective weight classes; Ava Martinez, Kerianne Louque, Zae'liFlorian, and Kelis Washington each placed second in their respective weight classes; andChloe Lorio and Rilee Roussel placed third in their weight classes; andWHEREAS, the Lutcher High School athletic program is led by Dwain Jenkins, whoalso serves as the school's head football coach; andWHEREAS, the Lutcher High School boys and girls powerlifting teams are mostdeserving of the highest recognition for their outstanding achievements during the 2026Louisiana High School Powerlifting Association State Meet.THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does herebycommend the Lutcher High School girls and boys power lifting teams for winning theLouisiana High School Powerlifting Association 2026 Division II state championships anddoes hereby encourage the members of both teams to continue their excellent work andalways strive for greatness in competition.SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESPRESIDENT OF THE SENATEPage 2 of 2
