1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; modifying a prior appropriation for the Mississippi
1.3Riverfront Trail in the city of Winona; amending Laws 2023, chapter 72, article
1.42, section 9, subdivision 12.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6Section 1. Laws 2023, chapter 72, article 2, section 9, subdivision 12, is amended to read:
1.7Subd. 12. Winona; Mississippi River Riverfront
1.8Trail  5,000,000
1.9For a grant to the city of Winona for final
1.10design, engineering, and construction of a
1.11bridge and bridge approaches connecting to
1.12Chestnut Street at one end and Carimona
1.13Street at the other end as part of the
1.14multipurpose nonmotorized Riverfront Trail
1.15from Levee Park to Lions Park trail segment
1.16to connect portions of the Mississippi
1.17Riverfront Trail between Levee Park and
1.18Lions Park. Any unspent portion of this
1.19appropriation remaining after completion of
1.20the project listed in this subdivision, after
1.21written notice to the commissioner of
1.22management and budget, is available for final
1.23design, engineering, and construction to extend

2.3     EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
