Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A house RESOLUTIONTO RECOGNIZE ANDAPPLAUD THE FORT MILL HIGH SCHOOL BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON CAPTURING THE 2025CLASS AAAAA, DIVISION 2 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO CONGRATULATE THESEATHLETES AND THEIR COACHES ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON.Whereas, the SouthCarolina House of Representatives was pleased to learn that on Saturday,November 15, 2025, at Aiken Steeplechase, York County's Fort Mill High Schoolboys cross country team took home their second consecutive Class AAAAA,Division 2 State Championship title; andWhereas, the Fort MillHigh School boys cross country team enjoyed a banner year, much to the delightof their fans and the disappointment of their rivals. In ultimate testimony totheir achievements, the team became back-to-back state champs; andWhereas, in a 48-point performancethat enabled the Yellow Jackets to pack up hardware only champions get to takehome, Fort Mill topped second-place Chapin; andWhereas, the YellowJackets had four top ten runners, including seniors Finn Leckrone, who finishedsecond overall with a time of 15:51:34, and Connor Demmerle, who finished infourth place clocking a time of 16:05:11. Sophomore Owen Ware placed fifth witha time of 16:10:25, and junior Hudson Haley landed in seventh place crossingthe finish line at 16:17:03; andWhereas, in a sportthat demands physical and mental strength, Coach Lee Whitaker, along with his skilledcoaching staff, utilized their own experiences and passion for the sport tomold a championship-caliber team. The lessons they have taught these youngathletes will continue to prove invaluable on and off the course for the restof their athletic careers, as well as throughout their lives; andWhereas, the members ofthe South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the pride andrecognition the Fort Mill High School boys cross country team have brought totheir school and community and they look forward to following the YellowJackets' future successes in the days to come. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:That the members of theSouth Carolina House of Representatives,by this resolution, recognize and applaud the Fort Mill High School boys cross countryteam on capturing the Class AAAAA, Division 2 State Championship title andcongratulate these athletes and their coaches on an outstanding season.Be it further resolvedthat a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Zachary D.
