BY REPRESENTATIVE MARCELLE
A RESOLUTION
To commend Carolyn Hill for her service to East Baton Rouge Parish and the state of
Louisiana.
WHEREAS, it is most fitting to recognize Carolyn Hill for her civic mindedness and
leadership and to commend her for her service to East Baton Rouge Parish and the state of
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill is a native of Miami, Florida, who has proudly embraced
Louisiana as her home; she received a bachelor of social work from Southern University and
a master of social work with a concentration in policy and research from Louisiana State
University; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill is a nationally-certified school social worker, policy strategist,
and community leader with more than eighteen years of experience advancing educational
equity and promoting community empowerment; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill is a former elected member of the State Board of Elementary
and Secondary Education who represented the fourteen parishes within District 8 and
became one of the youngest individuals ever elected to the board; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill previously served as chair of the East Baton Rouge Democratic
Parish Executive Committee, where she provided leadership in civic engagement, political
strategy, and community mobilization; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill is the principal consultant of Hill & Hills Consulting Firm,
LLC, where she provides strategic guidance in education policy, political campaign
development, leadership development, and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Hill currently holds the Miss Louisiana for America title, and her
platform is centered on human trafficking awareness and advocacy; she is committed to
policy reform and victim protection; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill is actively engaged in numerous civic and philanthropic
initiatives; she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and continues to
serve in leadership roles that advance community connection and service; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hill is currently pursuing a juris master degree and expanding her
expertise at the intersection of law, policy, and leadership; she is truly most deserving of the
highest recognition for her outstanding achievements and service to the community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Carolyn Hill for her service to East Baton
Rouge Parish and the state of Louisiana and does hereby extend sincere wishes that she
remain prosperous in all of her endeavors.
